Use full sentences and lots of descriptive words when you talk with your child. Ask them questions about what they're seeing, doing, and feeling.

Set simple limits and respond to behaviors the same way every time. Take a deep breath to avoid responding in anger.

For toddlers, messy eating is about experimenting. Offer small portions to avoid big clean-ups, wasted food, and stress.

Safety: Water
Supervise your child in the bath or anytime they're around water.
